Slotbike: "Here is why this is a better solution for gun storage...my AR-15 is standing at attention all by itself with a Rifle Rod in the barrel. . For one, it keeps the barrel off of a rest and this will help keep your precious collectible from getting marked up on the barrel (saving your bluing). Second and most obvious reason, you can fit a hell of a lot more firearms in your safe with these. My safe is a 24 gun safe (yeah right), it maxes out at maybe 16 using both sides. With rifle rods, I can get 20 to 24 in just the left side alone, while keeping everything upright and NOTHING TOUCHING ANYTHING, ANYWHERE!
