Gun Storage Solutions Products Review-Part 1

OK Everyone,
As promised....here is the first part! Today, this neatly packed box came to my door from Gun Storage Solutions. (1st Picture) The first thing I have to say is, IT ARRIVED VERY QUICKLY! I just spoke to them before the weekend and here it is on Monday. This is the first sign of a great company, with great customer service! In the box (2nd Picture), was a sampling of the products they make: Rifle Rods, Handgun Holders, some fabric for the rifle rods (to attach to your shelf so the velcro on the rod end can stick) and instructions with a very nice hand written note, on the back to me from Kellie, in their customer service department! (Thanks Kellie)
First of all, I requested "1" rod to review and she sent me 6! WOW!!!!!!! (I did not want her to think that I, or LIT was a group of people that were looking to just get something for nothing). I really just wanted to see how this product works! I could sense when I spoke to her that she wanted me to get a real feel for their product and how great they work to organize a safe. I guess she felt that 1 or 2 wouldn't give me a proper idea to write a complete review! (again, thanks Kellie!)
Watch for Part 2, coming to LIT soon, as I put these to good use and dis-spell some of the myths and trepidations of some of our members

Gun Storage Solutions Products Review-Part 2/Rifle Rods

Gun Storage Solutions - Rifle Rods:
The first thing that you notice is that these rods are made from injection molded plastic "NOT" vinyl covered wire like a closet shelf from Home Depot. I know that this was a concern of a few and I can tell you this: there is no way that injection molded plastic is going to, in any way, damage a barrel that you push a bronze (or brass) brush through OR shoot lead/jacketed ammo through.....come on, let's get real! The real issue here is that this is one of those products that is so simplistic in its design and function......it is one of those things that you look at and say: "why didn't I think of this"?
The principle behind Rifle Rods is simple: Place a rod made from injection molded plastic in the barrel, place the firearm where you want it and pull the rod up to the fabric (supplied) or carpeted shelf/top of your safe, and press the hard velcro on the rod against the softer carpet/fabric. SIMPLE, and it works! As you can see from the picture, I placed all 6 rods against the stock carpet on the top/inside portion of my safe, went down, had dinner, came up and voila.....they are still hanging there. So, for my safe, there is no need to use the supplied fabric because my safe already has a material that is suitable for the hard velcro to adhere to. (see Picture)

OK, here is the part that you all have been waiting for ![]()
As you can see, my AR-15 is standing at attention all by itself with a Rifle Rod in the barrel. Here is why this is a better solution for gun storage. For one, it keeps the barrel off of a rest and this will help keep your precious collectible from getting marked up on the barrel (saving your bluing). Second and most obvious reason (as you scroll down the photos is: you can fit a hell of a lot more firearms in your safe with these. My safe is a 24 gun safe (yeah right), it maxes out at maybe 16 using both sides. With rifle rods, I can get 20 to 24 in just the left side alone, while keeping everything upright and NOTHING TOUCHING ANYTHING, ANYWHERE! This is what 2 look like. JUST IMAGINE WHAT A SAFE FULL OF THESE CAN DO FOR YOU!
I'm buying a 20 pack of these! (can you say "GROUP BUY"?) Part 4 coming to a computer near you!

Gun Storage Solutions Products Review-Part 4/Handgun Hangers

OK, here is Part 4, on Gun Storage Solutions (http://www.storemoreguns.com) Handgun hangers!
This is just another one of those "why the hell didn't I think of this one first" products. Kellie, from GunStorage Solutions sent me a 2 pack of these. The pack contains 2 hangers and 4 rubber tips. The hanger can go on any shelf from 3/4" to 1". Just take the short end (if your barrel is long) or the long end (if your barrel is short, duh?????) and slide it on your shelf. If its loose (as it was on mine) just gently squeeze it (and putting the rubber tip on helps) and push it on to your shelf, SIMPLE? Uh, yeah!!!!! The rod itself is metal, coated with a baked on plastic and is absolutely safe for your barrel. You can also put the other rubber tip (supplied) on the firearm end of the rod to further protect you firearm. The firearm pictured here (isn't a real firearm) is a KWA Mark II Airsoft Professional Training Pistol. This 1911 Replica is within 1 oz. of the real thing so it gave me a real good feeling for what these would be like with a real firearm stored on them. My opinion, NO PROBLEM!!!!!!! In a few months, when my license arrives, I will have no issue storing my handguns on these. If you look at the 1st picture, you can see (in the 2nd picture) how much room these free up. All I can say is:
THESE PRODUCTS WORK!!!!! They are good quality items from a great company, who we should support. WHY?, because their products support our firearms. (in our safes, of course) You can go to their website at http://www.storemoreguns.com for more info and pictures.
My criteria for this review was a genuine need to maximize my storage space without having to buy another safe! For me, these are awesome and I believe that anyone and everyone would feel the same way, if they had them.
