A common question we get is, "What is the difference between Kikstands and Clipstands?" When the products were created, GSS had the typical gun counter in mind - a counter with three shelves, the top two being glass and the bottom a flat surface. The Clipstands were designed for the top glass shelves and the Kikstands for the bottom shelf. However, depending on your preference, you may choose a different set-up.
Clipstands, Kikstands or both? Read on for the skinny on both products.
Clipstands are great for glass shelves commonly used in a shop's gun display counter. As you can see in the picture, the gun on display is made the focal point. Clipstands are a subtle prop designed to lean the gun at a visually appealing angle, making it easy for the customer to view.
The biggest advantage to the Clipstand is its extension off the back of the stand that allows it to easily slide onto the shelf. This extension holds the stand in place no matter how many times the gun is removed and replaced onto the stand. Any gun shop owner knows that throughout a busy day guns are not always replaced in an organized fashion amidst the hustle and bustle.
Clipstands keep the shelves tidy throughout the whole day, no matter how busy!
Kikstands can be used on any flat surface, whether it is the glass shelves in the gun counter or the base shelf. Just like the Clipstands, the Kikstands are designed to lean the gun at a visually appealing angle. The angles are adjustable on both products, which will accommodate a variety of different sized guns.
The biggest advantage to Kikstands is that they are versatile and can be used on any shelf in the counter, top, middle or bottom. While the Kikstands are still easy to access, like the Clipstands, the Kikstands will not hold their place on the shelf. Many gun shop owners have used tack or a thick double stick tape to keep the Kikstands in place.
Another versatile quality of the Kikstands is that they can be used with rifles or long barreled revolvers. Just slide the angled prong through the trigger guard. Some adjusting may need to be made to the prong by bending up or down.
